Horizontal Separator

How it works
Chrome and Edge never shipped a way to put separators on the bookmarks bar, so this page is the workaround: the button above is a bookmark that happens to render as a horizontal line (──────────). Drag it onto the bar and you're done.
Note for Edge users: Edge refuses to add duplicate bookmarks, so every time you click or drag the button it gets a fresh random ID (UUID). That's why you can add as many separators as you want without hitting a wall.
The separator is just a normal bookmark, so it syncs through your browser account and survives restarts. A couple of horizontal lines are usually enough to divide a busy bar into clean sections — no extension required.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add a horizontal separator to my bookmarks bar?
Open this page and drag the horizontal line button onto your Chrome or Edge bookmarks bar. It appears as a clean divider line that separates groups of folders and links.
What is the difference between vertical and horizontal separators?
A vertical separator is a thin line (|) that splits items side by side on the bookmarks bar, while a horizontal separator is a wider line (──────────) that visually divides groups. Use the other page to get the vertical variant.
Can I add more than one horizontal separator?
Yes. Edge blocks duplicate bookmarks, so each drag assigns the separator a unique random ID (UUID). This lets you add unlimited separators in both Chrome and Edge.
Will my separators sync across devices?
Yes. The separator is stored as a normal bookmark, so it syncs through your Chrome or Edge account just like any other bookmark.
